2016 California Access Compliance Advisory Reference Manual (effective January 1, 2017) – This updated version of the Advisory Manual includes the full text of the 2016 CBC Chapter 11B standards and other state accessibility provisions along with advisory and explanatory comments from the Division of State Architect and the U.S. Department of Justice.

California law establishes all-gender restroom signage requirements (March 2017) – This Risk Review article discusses the new state law, regulations and DSA Bulletin 17-01 regarding new requirements for the use of gender-neutral signage in all new construction and existing single-user, gender-specific restrooms in school and district facilities.
