SIA Prevention Services is dedicated to promoting a safe, healthy and supportive environment for school employees and students. We offer a variety of services to meet a variety of school district needs. Through innovative programs aimed at preventing injuries, protecting property and reducing district liability, our member districts can better utilize their resources for educational purposes.
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Federal and state law requires equal access for all individuals to physical facilities, programs, services and activities at our schools.
Schools are required to comply with numerous state and federal regulations. It is a challenge to understand and maintain all the requirements including documentation, training, and personnel responsibilities. To assist our member districts, SIA has model programs and resources.

With thousands of district owned vehicles on the road each day, SIA has tools and services available to help protect the safety of the staff and students as well as district property.
- Employment Practices Liability
Appropriate procedures are essential to successful management. SIA trainings and resources help guide district leaders in proper employment practices.
A safe, comfortable and efficient work environment is beneficial for all employees. SIA has established a comprehensive ergonomics program for our member districts tailored to meet the needs of today's school employees.
- Fire Safety and Arson Prevention
A school fire loss can be devastating physically, emotionally and financially. SIA fire prevention resources help protect lives and valuable school property.
- Health and Wellness
SIA firmly believes in promoting a culture of health and wellness in our schools. We offer a variety of programs and presentations to our member districts to encourage staff to live safe and healthy lives, on and off the job.

The Golden Carrot fund provides for the promotion of health and wellness programs in the SIA member districts.
- Playground Safety
Playgrounds are an essential element of child development and education. To keep playgrounds safe and to meet state regulations, SIA has tools available to assist our member districts with inspections and maintenance.

Preventing losses is an effective way to protect school district resources. SIA offers a variety of services and tools to assist district staff in keeping their staff safe and their worksites protected.
Each season offers a different type of risk in our schools. District and school site staff can reduce loss by taking extra precautions during high risk seasons.
All SIA member school districts have access to the crime reporting service of WeTip. Students, staff and community can call WeTip to report any information on crimes committed against our schools.
